An amazing new way to sign emails

Being a Graphic Designer or a Brand consulting firm, you’re always looking for new ways to improve your customers’ image. Digital transformation is bringing a complete new range of ways for your customers to sign emails, allowing a huge dose of creativity, and at the same time remaining effective in providing contact information, and projecting values and status.

Old email signatures would try to conciliate the image of your customers with her hard data and the social networks icons.

The above are great examples taken from and They have a very good design, with a balanced layout, quite attractive, but also difficult to be used by the receiver of the mail. You can copy paste the phone if you want to call, or the address in case you want to drive there, and if you want to create a contact, you have to copy paste everything.Imagen Mr Doe

Also, it is obvious that logos of the company, and the own image of the owner of the signature seam to merge with the social network icons: LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter, to the point that they get more relevance that the actual company. This is due to the need to make the information not only available, but actionable. You want to provide a single click access to your LinkedIn profile. But you are paying a high price.

Alternatively, try this link. And try this other one link, too.

These links are taking you to a full-fledged business card, digitally transformed and enriched, to allow for easy use in the social network era. These cards can be clicked to call, to email, locate, or access the social network profiles, and it can be added as a contact without keying anything. They are visible on a simple and plain browser, on any device, be it a PC, a Mac, or a smartphone. And at the same time, they keep the complete image of your business card.

Now, you can imagine the possibilities that a good designer may have to create new email signatures, without losing a drop of functionality, just by adding to the design a link to the actual Personal Brand Card of the sender. I am showing below some terrible designs, I am not a designer myself, so please excuse me. You can click on the images to see the actual digital card of the sender of the email.

Another one here:

And a third example:
MIchael 1 signature

All you have to do is create a new signature, including any text and image, as before, and insert a link to the card to provide the image and functionality of the sender’s Personal Brand Card.

I would appreciate any comments, positive or negative, and ideas on how to use this new feature. Maybe you would show some examples once you have started using it. Any questions, this is my Personal Brand Card, and it is clickable, of course.  You can get more information at

A bank for the Tweetyjet generation

There’s not even one bank reading correctly the needs and preferences of Millennials. They don’t have the same criteria, interest, or expectations regarding banks.

This is the revolution that is already taking place in music, movies and series, books, newspapers, post, travel, rentals, y a huge etc., but applied to banking industry. I was lucky enough to live these revolutions very closely, and I am certain that banking is not there yet, I don’t see the signs. Banking is a very closed, regulated and protected industry, so it is not easy to enter. But it will eventually happen, we are going to see it.

An article, just to post one of the myriad:
Millennials Are Destroying Banks!

Not PayPal, nor To me, it implies much more, a complete change in paradigm, with an impact on the business model and to the value proposition, a full redefinition of processes and customer relationship. Millenials require control, immediacy, transparency and continuity; they perceive a territory much broader than a single country.

Banking industry must think of radical spin-offs, instead of trying to “digitalize” models from the 18th century. Repeat what many did during the Internet bubble, but this time in a definite way, incorporating the missing factor then: mobility. Many will look at it and decide not to assume the risk of failure. But what is to come is not a “digital” bank, or a “direct bank”, it is the financial services company for the Twittyjet generation!

Backup evolution

The need for safeguarding personal information has largely evolved from the birth of the IBM PC back in 1981. The storage capacity has multiplied by 10.000.000 (ten million), growing from the 160KB floppy disks to the several TB of today’s USB disks. Also the Operating System and application software have grown, and the pictures are now digital, as well as movies, video and music. Also mail and archives are fully digital as opposed to paper based. The information that we keep on PCs is vital and fundamental, so its loss may be extremelly serious and dramatic for any family, and even lethal for a small company.

External storage devices have multiplied, reaching very high capacities, and have enormously reduced its price. Many of today’s users have never seen a diskette or a tape, for they have been replaced with external drives and pen drives for the last 20 years, being totally commonplace, including SD cards. External memory is offering huge capacity for a very low price.

Broad access to Internet, 3g/4g and WIFI, along with a large increase of the bandwidth available, have facilitated the existence of cloud storage services, virtual folders like Dropbox, One Drive or Google Drive, or virtual remote disks like Bitcasa, being able to offer storage at a variable and very reduced cost.

Amid these deep changes, it’s shocking to realize how little evolution has taken place to the software, the logic, the process of backing up. In the XXI century, exactly like the in last 30 years, the user must select the files and folders to safeguard, incurring the risk of leaving out some important ones, and has to plan for some days and times for the software to copy the information, every selected item in cases, maybe only the items changed from the last backup. A thorough and precise selection. And people hate having to do this, and people don’t want to pay for having to do this.

Less than 20% of currently working PCs are backing up regularly. The other 80% are incurring in a risk of losing information. And the reason why this 80% are not doing much to solve this issue is that the solutions available today imply too much effort, far too much thinking, and too much expense than what these users are willing to assume.

eBay has 128 million users, Dropbox 300 million, 140 million people use Amazon every week, over 250 million have their profiles in LinkedIn, and Facebook may have more than 1 billion active users! None of today’s leading companies in backup solutions have more than 5 million users. Do you ask yourself why?

The users perceive that the problems created by today’s backup solutions are worse than the problem they pretend to solve.

My new project

My new project is ready to launch. It works in the business-card space, and we designed it to relieve your contacts from the burden of introducing your data, one contact after another, every time you give a card. So far, it implies scanning, reviewing, fixing misspellings, sorting, and filing, etc. of your business-card.

The name of the project is, and you can see it at

The solution is as follows: you introduce your own data; only once. Then, you let your contacts go to a website where they can see these data, and easily download your card into Outlook, Gmail, Android, iPhone, etc. No misspellings, no scanning, no time wasted, and effortless.

Example to click:

View or Download my Card
Isaac Newton

Now, once you have your card in, how can your contacts find it?

First, you can use a text and a thumbnail of the card as the signature for your e-mails. It is a very professional looking signature; and very convenient, too. It shows a small version of your card, and it is an “active signature”. It doesn’t require to copy-paste everything to create a new contact into Outlook, Gmail or iPhone. Just a couple of clicks.

This thumbnail and the text will redirect to the site containing your data, allowing the viewer to download it with a couple of clicks into Outlook, iPhone, Android, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.

The thumbnail is automatically generated by, based on a scan (or picture) of your card that you would upload. Then you can copy-paste it.

There is another convenient way of sharing your card. will generate a QR-Code that will open your card. You can print it on your physical card, maybe in the back. The scanning of this QR will redirect to the website with your data.

Scan this example: Bidi-IsaacNewton

There are many other ways of sharing your card, and among them, you can simply send a SMS or a Whatsapp with the Knowee Code (URL) of your card. It will be received with a link to the card.

Knowledge, resources, relationships

Ferry Palau - La Maddalena-7000

Yukeys provides advise, helps steer, and commits with the results. Performing through knowledge, experience, human and financial resources, and a broad relationship network

Recently, I had a liquidity event. I am announcing that I have sold my shares in DIGI.Mobil (Best Telecom). This original idea has proven to be a solid great idea. And the execution has been to the level of the ambitious business concept. This new company has become a top class MVNO, at a European level, for market share, ARPU and profit.I am really grateful to everyone who believed in this project: Telefónica, RDS of Romania, and above all to the team of people who have been making this idea a reality; Marius Varzaru high up in the list, who takes full control from now, to Eduardo Vinuesa, whose support to me has been key, and to Ricardo de Domingo, whose advise is always wise.  Also, thanks to the ones who could have been into the project, but finally were not.Ill remain in the Board, and as an advisor, supporting as much as I can, as this is for me like a child that has grown up.

I cant conceive this as the end of my career, and I am still very young, so, Ill take it easy for a time, while thinking of a new venture and helping others, as a Board member, or any other way. Ill be available on the same emails and mobiles, and at The Thinking Room.
